If the item is not available until March, why are they charging my credit card now? Even my credit card doesn't take the payment until the day it is due. Seems sort of greedy to me.

if you pay an item with the credit card your credit card will be charged...it's normal ...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I really want this item. It's just the accountant in me sees alot of interest being made in those three months.
