Very interesting Vic! I've never seen one like it. Maybe it is a printing error and the ink ran low...

Here are some scans...

It seems they ran out of blue ink... but.. the Epic logo must be black... and (as the text on the border...) it didnt appear!

The MATRIX # is different... and the tracks are interrupted, 2 seconds between songs

Really strange!... the case is the same as the european "usual" version...

Any idea????

The 2 seconds between the songs happen if you burn a CD or? The matrix number is also strange. Maybe it's a well done fake? I don't hope so for you Vic!

Great discovery Vic! We should be able to determine its authenticity. The matrix has to match one of the known pressings. If it really is a fake, it's funny to think that someone went through all the trouble of making a disc with a custom matrix just to have a printing flaw. ;)

What suprises me is that somebody would go to all the trouble to make a fake with printing flaws and 2 second gaps as well. I know print flawed discs have a place in collectors hearts but the 2 second gaps would make it worthless to me... that's just me though.

Wasn't this release an HDCD? Vic, do you have a way of checking the quality of the recording?

Really strange item!!

For collectors every little difference could be an important and never seen item to collect while for "normal" people it's just a bad copy... anyway, this allows people to work hard to try to reproduce this kind of items. personally i don't like collecting them (and i got some unfortunately) but who can say it's a fake?? in my opinion it is but this doesn't matter it for the collector it's a great addiction. Adding it onto the site it's another thing: only 100% official items in my opinion

I myself would find it to be of no value in my collection for the sole reason of the 2 seconds between all tracks, however, I'm not the guy who is looking to have a bunch of copies of a CD unless I had a domestic version and then got an import version for some exclusive bonus tracks (ie. Ten [US], Ten [Europe w/ Alive (live), Wash & Dirty Frank], and Ten [Japan w/ I've Got A Feeling & seperate indexing of Master/Slave]). For me it's about having all the music in some way, shape or form. Unique packaging is not as important to me. Call me an awkward collector but I don't have the space to store so many CDs and such. Nor do I have the money to go looking for it all to buy. Again, for me it's the content and not the package, but the content needs to be of acceptable quality.
