I was curious about this record too after talking to Paul about it. I was skeptical about the authenticity of this record so I did some research. Since the listing claimed it was "made" at Doppler in Atlanta I found out that indeed there is a Doppler Studios in Atlanta. I looked at their website and found out that they are a recording studio but they don't actually make vinyl records. I sent an email to Doppler Studios asking if it was possible that they made the Backspacer record and included a link to the ebay auction.

Then I sent an email to the seller of this record asking if it really was made at Doppler Studios in Atlanta. His reply to me said he was mistaken and that it wasn't made there and therefore was taking the auction down because it was made at a place in Florida known for making bootlegs! He also said he didn't want to get into trouble with ebay and didn't need bad publicity.

I wonder how the seller knows about the sound quality. Isn't the record "sealed". And if it's sealed how can he hear it? I agree with Megadave when it comes to these "limited editions". I have great doubts too. It doesn't make much sense to me that they would press exactly 26 records and they would by "numbered" A-Z. What do you think?

I can make a limited BACKSPACER like taht and put a letter "D" if you want to buy one
Don't you think it's too simple to do one?
I can buy a backspacer, unsealed it make a paper sheet with the same stupid things written on the "C" copy, reseale it (it's simple, there is a little machine that can do that for me) and put it on ebay

I think it is the most stupid thing i've ever seen on ebay about a pj vinyl

Yes, Frank, that is what I was thinking! It would be easy for me to make a bogus letter and re-seal it! Also, can someone explain to me the difference between "virgin vinyl" and non-virgin vinyl, since the seller claimed that the record was made from virgin vinyl? Is there an audible difference when playing the record?

i still rest with my idea..
the only limited edition from the backsp era are the orange & the white vinyls..
all the other limited press................

the 3 totd couloured vinyls (purple,clear,red) show us how u can do a great work with a coloured vinyl and made a perfect label too...
