HQ thread here!!!!!!

but guys i think if we have all this details it's just we have thousands of repressed cd album..
i tried to take my 2 yield italian copies...one bought when yield came out and the second one bought 1year ago...matrix it's obviously totally different..

about a couple of weeks ago there was a Ten copy on ebay , NOT BGM, it was so similar to this copy:

http://www.pjcollectors.com/detail.asp?id=1284

i asked scans...the only difference it was the Didp...printed under 1991 Sony music entertainement

i'm sure if we start to check our copies of each item....we find many little differences...
i think it could be a great thing start to upload all different mini variants but the risk, especially for the cd album category, is to have 1million items...and i'm not sure that everyone 'll understand this type (but to me, very precious...thanx Marc&Sam) of work..
but it's nice to have this type of discussion...specially between 2 great experts... :geek:

maybe we can open a thread like "if u have any question about pj items:Ask here!!" and make it as a sticky...it could be a nice thing.. :ugeek:

but at moment i think it's right to upload on pjc just great difference...on disc (this no code's disc discovery seems cool..with some words "missed"...Marc/Paul u should add it) cover, spine, cover's stickers etc...

i just noticed 2days ago how Didp changes cd single category (it is an old discussion but now with a different point of view)..
if u check...the singles from "GO to Immortality ERA" with Didp, have the BLACK plastic case.....without Didp, the WHITE plastic case...

check every single to have a confirm:

http://www.pjcollectors.com/detail.asp?id=1313

http://www.pjcollectors.com/detail.asp?id=107

to me...it's cool difference to list..and Sam has already made 90% of this "dirty work"

i included immortality cause i have the one with the Black case and i can confirm that Didp is printed on it...

http://www.pjcollectors.com/detail.asp?id=238

we just need : Oceans (but in this case no case color difference) /Spin/Not 4u...and it will be completed

the only strange thing is Dissident....Sam, could u check if your Didp Dissident copy has a Black/or white case??
cause we listed Didp version with case 's images from the "regular one"..check here..

http://www.pjcollectors.com/detail.asp?id=660

http://www.pjcollectors.com/detail.asp?id=1277

it will be nice if u can give a confirm about this difference.....
Mention this to me

Hey Frank, I'm so glad I dont collect Vinyl still ;)

Orange Blue and now this white backspacer....get ready for a huge price......I can collect a few $1 different matrix Cds, but well...would i ever get a white backspacer? on those prices its doubtful

I get your point though, checking over the Cd section as compared to the vinyl, the Pj back catalogue is heavily Cd biased.....so i understand what you say

but Ive been trying to track down the 7inch black daughter for some time now, and man thats proving hard to find.

the point is:
looking to what you or sam or some other collectors are trying to find, it seems that you will spend a lot of money ...more and more than me tat collect only winyl also trying to buy a versus blu or bs white...think about also the difficult to complete a category ...it is more hard to find all the release in cds than in vinyls

ok sorry this is not the right place to talk about

I'm pretty sure that my No Code is from BMG, but it doesn't have any "special" tag or something else to make it different from the normal one. I got mine back in 2005 when all my CDs were stolen... and that's why I'm not into CDs Dave, I'm traumatized!

Could you give us details on the No Code BMG cd as far as the matrix number? Is there any reference to BMG on the cd or packaging? Thanks!

I saw a new US Immortality scan was added on the main page ( http://www.pjcollectors.com/detail.asp?id=1761 ), and checked mine to compare for shits and giggles. Mine appears identical to the one newly scanned, with one exception- the DIDP 086106 is printed just below the 34K 77873 (and thus above the track times), whereas the newly scanned image has the DIDP 086106 printed below the track times. So I decided to register to note this rather trivial discrepancy.

For reference, the matrix number on the underside of MY disc shows DIDP-086106 G3 1C 01, with another, smaller-sized number set in the same ring reading IFPI L423. Additionally, IFPI 7234 (note this is not the same as L423) is also stamped/etched in even smaller print on the inner ring.

So, to whoever provided the scan of the newest Immortality addition- want to look at your disc again to note any differences to what I've just described on the underside of the disc? Looks like there potentially might be some minor differences that may be worth noting?

hi Andy,

first of all, welcome here..
well, great info from u , what a start!!!
i checked my disc as u request and obviously..there are minor differences:

matrix: DIDP-086106 - G4 1b 04 - IFPI L424 - IFPI 7212

i think they are related to different press when Immortality came out...i mean that probably Sony press and "re-press" it in a short period..just the right time to promote the single..
it could be cool add scan from your disc with a short info note...about cdsingle i think (but it's my opinion) it's possible but about cdalbum.....i have strong doubts..
Sony will repress its catalogue for the next 100years (from ten to the legacy) and we'll have always thousand of every little different details for each re-press album...
we soon enter in a black deep tunnel without exit...the only realistc chance it's still to add just great difference on discs (as for the ten brazilian), spine, back cover, bgm etc...
cdsingle it's a different thing...they have been pressed in a short period (some months?....1year??) so it's easier check little detail...and again, about immortality was cool to add version with different coloured case....
maybe we should open a specific thread...for hard core collectors..
Mention this to me
