Taking the train is a good option:
Rotterdam - Utrecht: €10,60
Utrecht - Berlin: €39,-

Almost 10 hours though... (sleeping train)
Leaves 14th around 7pm and arrival around 5am

We'll probably drive with 1 car to Berlin so unfortunately no room left there...

Another option is flying with Ryanair from Dusseldorf-Niederrhein airport on the 14th. Costs €22,57 including taxes. Additional costs: train Rotterdam - Nijmegen €19,80 and a taxicab from Nijmegen to airport (not very expensive, maybe 10 euro's pp)

pdalowsky wrote:the east midlands flight is Ryanair, but it cost me a lot more because I am taking my little monster with me,....

the flights were £20 return, total cost...over £250.....£40 fucking quid to take a bag along the way, and 20 quid each to check in!!! no online checking in becausen I have an infant....unreal, but I dont care I'm seeing PJ ;)

Norman getting from East Midlands is easy to manchester, there is a train direct, just worried about the time of night the plane lands. I would defo suggest hiring a car at the airport - one that you can leave in manchester - should cost you no more than 30 pounds and give you total flexibility

Thanks Paul! But I think I will take the same flight as Victor. We arrive much earlier the day and it's directly Manchester. Now just have to find a good way from the airport to the hotel. Vic do you have any suggestions?

Im not sure as i left Manchester 9 years ago, but I think the best option is to catch a bus to the Central Coach Station.

train or taxi also Norman, the airport is right next to the train station and goes direct to city centre, you can then hop on the tram to the MEN

There are 2 airports in Berlin - Tegel and Schönefeld. Schönefeld is quite near to the Wuhlheide. You can take a tram.
